Twenty in 2020

20 BLACK BRITISH AUTHORS

20 BOOKS IN ONE YEAR

Introducing Twenty in 2020, a year-long project from Jacaranda Books in association with Words of Colour Productions.

Following a hugely popular call-out for unpublished Black British writers, independent publisher Jacaranda has picked twenty top submissions to publish over the course of 2020. The first time a UK publisher has published twenty Black British writers in one year, the Twenty in 2020 books cover literary fiction, poetry, memoir, history, romance and more, and together work to add to the diversity of literature, characters and authors available to UK readers—and to inspire a whole new generation of readers, writers and publishing professionals.

The Space Between Black and White

All my life, until now, I have suffered from being not White enough. Now I am not Black enough either, in some people’s eyes."

**********

Introducing The Space Between Black and White by Esuantsiwa Jane Goldsmith. A memoir of personally living big questions of heritage, belonging and identity, Goldsmith takes us from growing up mixed-race in 1950s Britain to travelling abroad, where her appearance is seen through radically different lenses; fighting inequality in her involvement in the Feminist and Black Power movements—and her emotional journey to Ghana to finally meet her father.

You can order The Space Between us below, and also browse some of the other confirmed forthcoming titles due to be published in the series. As the series unfolds and further titles are annouced these will be added to the selection.
