This Is Not A Drill: An Extinction Rebellion Takeover
"We have a shared vision of change—creating a world that is fit for generations to come."
—Extinction Rebellion stated principle #1
In the wake of the London protests of March and April—and with more taking place across the world—we offer you a unique insight into the Extinction Rebellion movement with an evening of discussion from key participants to the momentous London actions.
Hear from Will Skeaping and Sam Knights, Extinction Rebellion activists and key editors of the call-to-action handbook This is Not a Drill, as they retrace the movement's accomplishments and struggles, as well as offering practical advice on how to re-shape our ecological futures for the better. Other speakers will include XR Political Strategy Team co-ordinator Farhana Yamin, who handles the legal aspects of protest planning; XR Arts Factory co-ordinator Miles Glyn, in charge of the visual aesthetic and artwork; XR designers Charlie Waterhouse and Clive Russell; and XR cook Momo Haque, who kept the protesters fed during the London demonstrations. Drawing from their own experiences and XR's core principles, the guests will aim to provide the audience with the necessary tools to help fight global climate change.
This is a one-of-a-kind evening offering you the chance to meet some of the people behind one of the defining movements of our age.
The discussion will be followed by a book signing with all contributors. There will also be an opportunity to have an item of clothing hand-printed with unique symbols by the XR Art Blockers so remember to bring along something you love or loathe!
