Sawson's Quest: Charles Gratwicke

Saturday 30th March 2019 3pm - 4pm Bond Street Chelmsford Literary Event, Signing, Free Event

Join Charles Gratwicke, Chelmsford Court judge turned local author, as he talks about the writing of his historical novel, Sawson's Quest. Partly insipired by Treasure Island, the book took 9 years to write as a way to relax away from Chelmsford Crown Court.

Edward Sawson had arrived in a small village in the Downs some twenty-five years earlier with nothing but the clothes in which he stood. A reclusive figure, Sawson was always on the lookout but he nevertheless had made a happy and peaceful family life for himself.
Until a chance encounter destroys it all and makes him confess the remarkable and shocking events of his life that have put them all into the grave danger they now find themselves in...

Charles will read a few pages from the novel before giving a short talk on his writing process, followed by a Q&A.
