Exhibition, Free Event
For his exhibition at Foyles, Mark Titchner exhibits a large scale representation of the London Bridge commission design in addition to a selection of his previous public realm works.
Me. Here. Now. in Stainer Street is a public artwork that associates the experience of travel and commuting with endurance, reflection and the potential for self-improvement. Titchner wanted to create a space for ‘a moment of self-reflection with our fellow travellers, those who we share our journeys with but whom we will never know.’ You can read more about the project at Thameslink Programme and Futurecity.
Mark Titchner’s work explores the tensions between the different belief systems that inform our society, be they religious, scientific or political. Focusing on an exploration of words and language, in recent years much of his production has been based in the public realm both in the UK and internationally.
Join us on Tuesday 23rd Oct, for the Private View, where the artist, Mark Titchner, will be in conversation with Futurecity Head of Arts Commissioning, Vicki Young, at 6:45PM.
