Doug the Pug Therapy Dog Reading Session

Sunday 29th July 2018 1pm - 2pm Grand Central Birmingham Signing, Children's Event, Free Event

We're delighted to welcome lovely little Doug to our store this summer to help children with their reading.

Doug is a wonderfully sweet natured little dog who, through the UK charity Pets As Therapy, works as a Therapy and Reading Dog on the Read2Dogs scheme. Therapy Dogs are both kind and gentle companions who offer comfort and support to those who need it, often visiting several people all around the UK.

But Doug isn't just any Therapy and Reading Dog. He has his own book!

Doug's story is a sweet tale highlighting the joys of human and animal friendship, based on Doug's genuine working life as a Therapy Dog. The book aims to encourage us to be happy with who and what we are, celebrate each individual's differences and recognise that we each have something quite wonderful to offer.

The book is illustrated throughout with charming colour photographs, background drawings and illustrations.

Doug will be reading his book with the children with the help of his human, Cate.

The books will be available to buy on the day for £6 and all royalties from the book will go directly to the Pets As Therapy charity.
