Foyles x ELCAF: Drawing with Shapes with Owen Davey

Saturday 29th April 2017 11am - 12 Noon Grand Central Birmingham Children's Event, Free Event

Foyles x ELCAF is a new collaboration which sees the UK’s largest independent bookshop teaming up with the East London Comic & Arts Festival to celebrate some of the best creative talent in the UK. This year, we open our doors in Chelmsford, London, Birmingham and Bristol to host a series of workshops, talks and one-to-one meetings with illustrators, comic artists and experts in the field. Curated by ELCAF, this eclectic programme aims to celebrate the dynamic work of artists that are making waves in the UK’s independent comic, narrative art and illustration scene. This is the second in the series, and a children’s workshop focussing on the art of drawing with shapes.

Join a stage by stage drawing workshop, using shapes as a tool with award winning illustrator Owen Davey. Owen Davey is an artist and illustrator currently living and working in Leicester. His illustrated books Mad about Monkeys and Smart about Sharks were published by Flying Eye Books in 2015 and 2016.

Why not have a go at your own drawings using images of animals taken from Owen’s books as inspiration.

This event is suitable for children aged 5-10 years.

Tickets: This is a free event, simply add the required number of tickets to the basket below. Please only book tickets for your child(ren). Please note, no physical tickets will be issued (to save the trees!). Your email confirmation is proof of booking.

Venue: Foyles, Grand Central Birmingham, B2 4BF
